Applications and processing

Where and how Aqua Dicht is used

1

Clean substrate – no drying needed

Remove loose dirt, dust and friable material. The substrate does not need to be dry – damp and wet surfaces are expressly suitable. This is the decisive advantage for emergency sealing in rain.

2

Apply with spatula or cartridge

Tin and bucket: apply the compound with a spatula or brush to the area to be sealed and spread evenly. Cartridge: apply directly into joints using a cartridge gun and spatula nozzle. Layer thickness 1–3 mm depending on requirements.

3

Press in and allow to cure

Press the compound firmly and work into edges. Aqua Dicht seals immediately – even before full curing the area is watertight. Full curing after a few hours to one day depending on temperature and layer thickness.

Which substrates does Aqua Dicht bond to?

Bitumen, metal, concrete, timber, glass, ceramic – wide bonding range

Aqua Dicht bonds to bitumen roofing felt, metal and steel, concrete and masonry, timber and wood-based panels, glass, ceramic and plastic. This makes it suitable for almost all exterior areas: roofs, gutters, balconies, terrace drains, pipe penetrations, window sills and wall connections. The fibre reinforcement additionally allows bridging of cracks and minor movement.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about Aqua Dicht repair sealant

Can Aqua Dicht really be applied to a wet substrate?

Yes. Aqua Dicht is specifically developed for application on damp and wet substrates – even in rain. Remove loose dirt and friable material; otherwise the substrate does not need to be dried. This is the key advantage for emergency sealing.

What is the difference between cartridge and tin?

Cartridge (300/750 ml): used with a cartridge gun and the included spatula nozzle – ideal for joints, connections and narrow cracks where precise application is needed. Tin and bucket (1/5 kg): applied with a spatula or brush to larger areas, wide cracks and area repairs.

Grey or transparent – which colour for which application?

Grey is the standard choice for dark substrates: bitumen roofing felt, metal, concrete, gutters. Transparent suits light-coloured surfaces, glass, transparent materials and wherever the seal should be as invisible as possible – e.g. on glass roofs, roof lights or light-coloured building materials.

Which pack size for my repair?

For individual cracks and joints, the 300 ml cartridge or 1 kg tin is usually sufficient. For multiple connections or a larger damaged area, the 5 kg bucket is recommended – the price per kg is lower and the compound keeps longer than an opened cartridge.

Can Aqua Dicht be painted over or plastered?

Aqua Dicht is paintable after curing. For external plastering on moving substrates, a reinforcement mesh is recommended for lasting crack-resistance in the plaster.
