Floor fill, ceiling fill & levelling

Loose fill for insulating, filling and levelling

Loose-fill insulation materials for simple pouring – for the thermal and acoustic insulation of timber joist ceilings and top-storey ceilings, as well as for load-bearing levelling in floor construction. Natural materials such as cellulose and wheat straw, plus the load-bearing levelling fill MEHABIT.

  • Natural loose-fill insulation
  • Thermal & acoustic insulation
  • Load-bearing levelling fill
  • Simply pour in – no machinery needed
Easy to apply: Pour-in insulation is applied without special machinery – loosen, pour in, level off evenly. Ideal for DIYers too. For enclosed cavities, blow-in insulation is the right method.

Application

What is pour-in insulation used for?

Loose-fill insulation materials are poured loosely onto open, accessible surfaces and are best suited for top-storey ceilings, timber joist ceilings and loft floors. In addition, load-bearing levelling fills are used for height compensation in floor construction – for example to cover pipework or as a load-bearing layer beneath dry screed.

1

Loosen

Loosen the material from the bag so it reaches its full volume.

2

Pour in

Apply evenly into bays, onto the ceiling or onto the floor.

3

Level off

Screed level to the desired insulation thickness – done.

Cellulose, straw or levelling fill – which pour-in material is right?

Depending on your goal – thermal insulation, acoustic insulation or levelling – a different loose-fill material is the right choice. The overview helps you decide.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about pour-in insulation

Which pour-in insulation is suitable for the top-storey ceiling?

For top-storey ceilings and timber joist ceilings, loose cellulose (Unifloc) and wheat straw (ISO-STROH) are well suited. Both are simply poured in and provide thermal and acoustic insulation.

Is pour-in insulation walkable or load-bearing?

Classic pour-in insulation materials are not directly walkable. For load-bearing and walkable structures, the MEHABIT levelling fill with adhesive effect is the right choice – it forms a bonded, stable layer.

Can I apply pour-in insulation myself?

Yes. Pour-in insulation is applied without special machinery: loosen, pour in and level off evenly. This is well suited to DIYers.

How thick does the pour-in layer need to be?

The insulation thickness depends on the desired U-value and the component. For the top-storey ceiling, greater thicknesses are usually advisable. We are happy to calculate your requirements – call us on +49 6261 17613.

Does pour-in insulation also provide acoustic insulation?

Yes. ISO-STROH in particular offers good acoustic insulation in addition to thermal insulation, thanks to its high installation density.

Is attic insulation also available with installation and subsidies?

Yes. We offer attic insulation with a U-value of 0.14 W/m²K including delivery and installation in our service area – eligible for subsidies of up to 20%.
