blown-in insulation for roofs, walls and ceilings
Roof, wall & ceiling
Where is blow-in insulation used?
Blow-in insulation is suitable for almost all cavity constructions in new builds and energy-efficient renovation. The insulation material is applied by machine and fills cavities completely – seamlessly, without thermal bridges and even in hard-to-reach areas.
Roof slope & attic
Blow-in insulation for roof slopes and top-storey ceilings – also available with a U-value of 0.14 W/m²K including installation and subsidies of up to 20%.

Blow-in insulation in new builds and renovation
| Criterion | New build | Renovation |
|---|---|---|
| Planning benefit | Constructions can be designed to work optimally with blow-in insulation | Existing cavities are used – no major structural work required |
| Typical components | Roof slope, timber-frame wall, storey ceiling | Attic, timber joist ceiling, external wall cavity |
| Key advantage | Cavities filled seamlessly, thermal bridges reduced | Fast, clean and economical without dismantling |
| Subsidy | Eligible depending on the measure | Up to 20% subsidy possible (e.g. attic insulation) |
Blow-in insulation materials
Cellulose, wood fibre, straw or mineral fibre – which blow-in material is right?
Depending on the construction, requirements and building method, different blow-in materials are used. All materials can be machine-applied and fill cavities completely and in a settlement-proof manner.
Cellulose
The most widely used blow-in insulation material – made from recycled paper, with good thermal values and a sustainable material base. For roof, wall and ceiling.
ISO-STROH
Blow-in insulation made from 100% wheat straw – ETA-certified, ecological, with strong acoustic insulation thanks to high installation density.
Wood fibre
For constructions with requirements for summer heat protection – loose wood fibre as blow-in insulation in ecological timber construction.
Mineral fibre
Non-combustible blow-in insulation – ideal for constructions with fire protection requirements in roof, wall and ceiling.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about blow-in insulation
Which components is blow-in insulation suitable for?
Blow-in insulation is suitable for roof slopes, attics, timber-frame walls, timber joist ceilings and storey ceilings – in new builds and renovation alike. The prerequisite is an enclosed cavity into which the insulation material can be blown by machine.
Which materials can be blown in?
We carry out blow-in insulation with cellulose, wood fibre, ISO-STROH and mineral fibre. The choice of material depends on the construction, fire protection requirements and the desired insulation properties.
What are the advantages of blow-in insulation over insulation batts?
Blow-in insulation materials fill cavities completely and seamlessly – even in hard-to-reach places and around installations. This reduces thermal bridges and significantly shortens installation time. Less waste also means lower overall costs.
Do you also carry out the blow-in insulation yourselves?
Yes. As a specialist contractor, we carry out the complete installation on request – from planning to machine application on site. We cover our local service area; please feel free to enquire.
Is there a subsidy available for blow-in insulation?
Yes. Energy-efficient renovation measures such as attic insulation are generally eligible for subsidies. For attic insulation with a U-value of 0.14 W/m²K, subsidies of up to 20% are available.
What accessories do I need for blow-in insulation?
Professional blow-in insulation requires closure plugs (wood fibre or cork) to seal the blow-in openings, sealing sponges for use during the blowing process, and Tyvek® adhesive pads for airtight sealing of the openings. Everything is available in this category.
