TargoVARIVAP S is a reinforced, variable high-performance vapor barrier membrane
Format and Cut Size
Format: 1.5 m width, cut to size from 1 m². With 1 m², you receive 0.66 linear metres. 1 linear metre corresponds to 1.5 m².
Order quantity calculation: Length of the membrane in metres x 1.5 metre width = square metres / order quantity.
For controlled vapor diffusion in roof and wall constructions. Thanks to the VARIVAP effect, the membrane adapts its diffusion resistance to ambient humidity.
- Winter: higher Sd value reduces moisture penetration into the construction
- Summer: lower Sd value allows stored moisture to dry out quickly and safely
The TargoVARIVAP S version is the reinforced design and is therefore also suitable for blown-in insulation materials.
Installation Notes
For a permanently functional construction, airtight installation is essential. The membrane should be laid without wrinkles and mechanically fixed, for example by stapling.
Basic installation rules (interior):
- Install parallel to the eaves or rafters, with overlaps on the rafter when installed along rafters
- Smooth side facing inward, minimum overlap 10 cm
- Seal overlaps, connections, and penetrations airtight using products from the Targo adhesive system
Sealing/bonding (system recommendation):
- Seal overlaps airtight with TargoRAPID
- Seal connections with TargoFIX SK, a permanently elastic cartridge adhesive
- Seal penetrations such as pipes or ventilation ducts with TargoFlex
- For exterior applications and details, the system also uses TargoBENDIX, TargoND tape, and TargoFIX SK
