Pipe & cable sleeves
Straight to the right grommet
Pipes or cables – the first decision
Penetrations through the airtightness layer are unavoidable weak points without the right product. KAFLEX seals cables, ROFLEX seals pipes. Both are self-adhesive, ready to use immediately and faster than laborious taping – especially with multiple penetrations on a building site.
KAFLEX – cable grommets
For 1 cable (mono), 2 cables (duo) or up to 16 cables (multi). Ø 4.8–12 mm, self-adhesive, flexible EPDM seal. Also available as post variant for retrofitting. From EUR 2.10/pc.
To KAFLEX grommets → Pipes ★ROFLEX – pipe grommets
For pipes of all kinds – from small water pipes (Ø 15–30 mm) to ventilation ducts (Ø 100–120 mm). Self-adhesive, flexible EPDM seal, indoor and outdoor. From EUR 2.70/pc.
To ROFLEX grommets → Conduit pipesStoppa 20 – conduit plug
Airtight plug for conduit pipes Ø 20 mm. Seals the conduit until a cable is pulled through – the most economical solution for pre-installed conduits. EUR 0.76/pc.

Why grommets?
Grommet instead of tape – faster, more reliable, more secure
Faster than taping
A KAFLEX or ROFLEX grommet is fitted in seconds – no cutting, no slitting the membrane, no moulding tape around round surfaces. With 20 penetrations on a building site, this makes a substantial time difference.
More reliable with EPDM seal
The flexible EPDM rubber seal fits snugly around the pipe or cable and remains permanently elastic. Tape on round surfaces inevitably forms folds and voids that are potential leak points.
Approved for indoor and outdoor use
KAFLEX and ROFLEX are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Penetrations on the exterior (façade membrane, sub-roof membrane) also need sealing – grommets work just as reliably outside as inside.
Practical tip
Penetrations – the most common failure in blower-door tests
Blower-door tests consistently show that penetrations are among the most common sources of leaks – often not because the vapour barrier was poorly installed, but because cables and pipes were sealed too hastily with tape. Grommets remove this source of error. For projects that need to demonstrate an n50 value, they are not an option but a standard.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about pipe and cable grommets
What is the difference between KAFLEX and ROFLEX?
KAFLEX is developed for cables – the EPDM seal is optimised for round cable cross-sections. ROFLEX is for pipes – for larger and often more weather-resistant applications. Both are self-adhesive and suitable for indoor and outdoor use, but are not interchangeable.
What is the difference between KAFLEX mono and KAFLEX duo?
KAFLEX mono seals a single cable penetration. KAFLEX duo has two separate openings for two cables in one grommet. Where there are two cables at one point, KAFLEX duo is noticeably faster and neater than two individual mono grommets side by side.
When do I need KAFLEX post?
KAFLEX post is for retrofitting – when the cable is already installed and the vapour barrier was fitted afterwards (or vice versa). The grommet opens and closes around the existing cable or conduit pipe up to Ø 20 mm without having to pull the cable out.
Which ROFLEX type for which pipe?
ROFLEX 20 for small pipes Ø 15–30 mm (water, heating). ROFLEX 100 for Ø 100–120 mm (ventilation, chimney). Further ROFLEX sizes for diameters in between are available in this category.
What is Stoppa 20 and when do I use it?
Stoppa 20 is a plastic plug for conduit pipes Ø 20 mm – the most economical way to seal a conduit airtight until a cable is pulled through. When the cable arrives, remove the Stoppa and fit a KAFLEX grommet.
Why are grommets better than tape for penetrations?
Tape on round surfaces inevitably creates folds and voids. EPDM grommets fit snugly and uniformly – no voids, no leak points. Grommets are also significantly faster to fit than the laborious process of slitting and moulding tape around penetrations.
