Liquid airtightness – the solution for areas without a flat substrate
Adhesive tapes need flat, smooth surfaces. Grommets need defined pipe or cable diameters. Liquid airtightness can be used where neither is available: on rough unplastered masonry, porous panel materials, irregular transitions between building materials or at complexly shaped detail points. Application
How Aerosana Visconn is applied
Prepare the substrate
Substrate clean, dry and dust-free. For absorbent substrates such as masonry, pre-wetting with water is recommended – this improves adhesion and prevents the sealant from being absorbed too quickly.
Apply the first coat
Aerosana Visconn is applied by brush, roller or spray bottle. At cracks, joints and transitions, embed Aerosana Fleece – press the fleece into fresh sealant and overcoat with a second layer.
Second coat and curing
After the first coat has dried, apply a second coat. The cured layer forms a permanent, moisture-variable airtightness layer – elastic, crack-free and long-lasting.
When liquid airtightness is the better choice
Masonry, porous surfaces, no straight line – then Visconn
On smooth timber and OSB, adhesive tape is faster and simpler. But on unplastered masonry or at transitions between timber and concrete where no tape will hold permanently, liquid airtightness is the superior system. Aerosana Visconn closes pores, fills unevenness and forms a seamless, continuous layer – without edges, without risk of detachment.

What is the difference between Aerosana Visconn and Visconn Fibre?
Aerosana Visconn is the standard version for surface applications on unplastered walls, ceilings and floors. Visconn Fibre is fibre-reinforced and offers higher mechanical stability – ideal for connections, transitions between different building materials and areas where crack bridging or movement accommodation is needed.
What is Aerosana Fleece used for?
The Aerosana Fleece (150 mm width) is a bridging fleece that is embedded into the fresh Visconn layer. It bridges cracks, joints and transitions and prevents the cured sealing layer from tearing at these points. The fleece is pressed into the first Visconn coat and overcoated with a second layer.
Which substrates does Aerosana Visconn bond to?
Aerosana Visconn bonds to unplastered masonry, concrete, timber, wood fibre boards, wood-based panels and other porous building materials. The substrate must be dry, clean and free of release agents. For highly absorbent substrates, pre-wetting with water is recommended.
What is the difference between blue/black and white?
Purely aesthetic – both colours have identical technical properties. Blue/black makes the applied layer more visible, making it easier to check the layer thickness. White is better suited for visible areas or where a light colour is preferred.
Can Aerosana Visconn be used as a complete vapour barrier?
Yes. Aerosana Visconn is moisture-variable and forms a vapour barrier and airtightness layer after curing that meets vapour barrier requirements. It is suitable for surfaces where no membrane vapour barrier can be applied.
How long does curing take?
Drying time depends on layer thickness, temperature and humidity. Under normal conditions, the first coat is dry enough for the second coat after a few hours. Full curing after 24–48 hours. Minimum processing temperature: +5 °C.
