The right product for every application

7 product areas – from overlaps to liquid sealant

Adhesive tapes and sealants cover all detail points in airtightness and waterproofing. Whether overlaps, wall connections, pipe penetrations, joints or difficult geometries – there is the right product for every task. All products from Targo AG Switzerland and pro clima are designed as a system and coordinated with each other.

Tapes & adhesive compounds

Targo RAPID (indoors), ULTRA (outdoors, UV), FLEX (penetrations), Tescon Vana, Orcon F – the most popular tapes and adhesives for vapour barriers, façade and sub-roof membranes.

Connection tapes

Single-sided and double-sided tapes for connecting membranes to timber, concrete, masonry and other building components – flexible and permanently adhesive.

Vapour check tapes

Self-adhesive tapes for blocking vapour diffusion – for special constructions with controlled diffusion properties.

Kompri joint sealing tapes

Pre-compressed foam tapes for permanently elastic joint sealing – expand to the intended joint width when installed and permanently seal joints between building components.

Pipe & cable grommets

ROFLEX and KAFLEX – pre-formed grommets for fast, secure and airtight sealing of pipe and cable penetrations.

Primer & accessories

Bonding agents for difficult substrates – improves tape adhesion on absorbent or smooth surfaces such as concrete, calcium silicate blocks and coated surfaces.

Liquid airtightness

Brushable or sprayable airtightness for areas not reachable with tapes or membranes – gaps, rough surfaces, complex geometries.

Adhesive technology we use ourselves every day

As a specialist contractor for blow-in insulation, adhesive technology is part of our daily craft. We know the differences between products from hands-on practice – which tape holds on which substrate, when primer is needed, when a grommet is faster than a flexible tape. This knowledge is reflected in our product selection and in our support.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about adhesive tapes and sealants

What is the difference between adhesive tape and connection adhesive?

Adhesive tapes are suitable for smooth, even substrates such as PE film, OSB and timber – they bond over a large surface and are quick to process. Connection adhesives such as Orcon F or Folien-Fix are better for rough, absorbent or uneven substrates like concrete, plaster and masonry – as well as for permanently elastic connections that need to accommodate movement.

When do I need primer?

Primer significantly improves tape adhesion on absorbent, porous or difficult substrates such as calcium silicate blocks and porous concrete. On smooth substrates like timber and PE film, primer is generally not needed. If in doubt: it is better to prime once too often than not enough.

What are Kompri joint sealing tapes and where are they used?

Kompri joint sealing tapes are pre-compressed foam tapes that expand to the intended joint width when installed. They seal joints between building components with permanent elasticity – for example between window frames and masonry, or between different building materials that settle differently.

When should I use a pipe or cable grommet instead of tape?

Grommets (ROFLEX for pipes, KAFLEX for cables) are pre-formed solutions that are faster and often more reliable than taping. They are particularly suitable for multiple penetrations and where time and reliability are critical. Tape is more flexible for unusual geometries.

What is liquid airtightness and when is it useful?

Liquid airtightness (CONTEGO, sprayable airtightness) is used wherever membranes or tapes cannot be applied – on very rough substrates, hard-to-reach areas, gaps and complex geometries. It is brushed or sprayed on and forms a permanent airtightness layer after curing.

Does adhesive technology have to match the membrane manufacturer?

For the system guarantee, yes. Targo recommends Targo adhesive technology with Targo membranes; pro clima recommends pro clima products. Many cross-brand combinations work well in practice, but the system guarantee lapses. In case of doubt, stay within the system.
